Big fish, Dave! Surprisingly small lure too. What gear did you need to beat those bad boys?

Never miss any chance to bag tuna, best light tackle game fish there is

Tarpon are a laugh, loads this size in Cuba, boated 27 in a day (file cutting points on hooks for better landing rates)

LOADS of blo*dy Cuda, good fun on the flats-sack of spuds in deep water.

Tim, Jacks scrap like mad. But all you need is pretty much the same gear we use for bass. 16-20lb line, lures around 20g (mag minnow 105mm is spot on out there) and 60lb fluro shock leaders. But exspect to see alot more line going in and out during the fight. These guys are about 20lb.
Lure size makes a huge difference, 105mm got nailled in seconds, and that was sight casting, the only way I could get a take on a 125mm was high spped trolling along the drop off.
Tuna were taken on small 18g profiles, retrieved as fast as you can turn the handle.

Steve, Summer seems like a long time away at the moment, Hopefully some of the other guys will stick a few pics up of tropical plugging.
Jacks are a great lure species, aggresive, dumb, but very strong. Plugs and poppers both work a treat for them.

Dave, great pics there, as bob said thanks for sharing. You must have an impressive species list? If we were to have a hat competition you have my vote everytime.
