just a quick question .............how do you add pictures to your posts? can it be done via photobucket in the same way as WSF? Cant find any info about how to put pics up on this new site. Probably there somewhere. Trev

Then, when you are in, you'll see a big button on your page that gives you the option to upload a pic. Click on that, and choose the pics that you want to upload into your Photobucket account. They may take a few seconds to upload (i tend to compress them 1st in Microsoft Photo Manager . . .but don't worry about that if you arent familar with it).

Then when you click back onto your page after you have uploaded your pic, there should be 4 boxes below each pic, that say something along the lines of "Email & IM", "Direct Link", "HTML Code", "IMG Code" next to them.

Right-click on the box that says "IMG Code", and copy that. Go back into your post on here that you are trying to make (i tend to have two sets of internet explorer open at the same time to make this easier), and paste the link where you want it into your post.

I am a bit of dunce - I can manage to post pics as above from a photobucket account, but how do I "shrink" a photo for my avatar? I can't seem to get one sorted that is of a small enough file size...

Tim, I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager to do mine. If you want to e-mail the oringinal to me, i'll just send it back to you all sorted? Up to you.

Within Microsoft Office Picture Manager, there are 2 sets of commands that you need . . . .

Resize & Compress Pictures

Resize: You can select a ratio on the right hand side, and 'see' the number of pixels, therefore allowing you to keep adjusting until you hit the parameters for this site.

Compress Pictures: You can select the degree of compression. The pre-set called 'web pages' seems to do the trick.

if you are using photobucket just click on the edit tag top left of your individual photos and reduce at will

or go into your photo file and left click on a piccie and click on resize then use custom to reduce

Thanks guys - I'll see if I can suss that leter (before I've had one glass too many!). Do you have to download the Microsoft software?

I've got it on my laptop already. Not sure how you get hold of it otherwise.

I think it's sorted using the resize option on Photobucket. Cheers boys!

Easy enough if you have photobucket
open photo bucket then come back here to the message you want to add the photo too get to the point you want the pic go back to photo bucket hover over the pic you want cut and the bottom option on the list come back here and paste it
like this
