    Hi,

I'm thinking of building my next rod, looking at past threads there are quite a few people who have build rods. Can you provide some links to suggested reading, howto's/tips, suppliers etc.

    Thanks.

Guides n Blanks is really good with prompt service and genuine parts

    http://www.guidesnblanks.com/

Look at the Tips section for vids and guidance on most things.

Usefultube also has more vids than you can shake a blank at

I've also had good service from Rods rings and things... But used a professional rod builder.

Another vote for guides n blanks, they've looked after me really well over the years.. Cork is really easy to shape with sandpaper, just go slow and keep checking.. Wrapping rings just requires practise, a fly tying bobbin holder is really useful.. Most of all persistence and patience are what's needed.. I find it really good fun. Good luck and all the best!
