Despite a forecast for light 2-3 winds the weather turned nasty with a force 5 sw wind coming up with a heavy swell curtailed our trip. Throw in a bit of rain made it very uncomfortable indeed

However during the 2 hours we were out we managed 4 bass and 2 pollack nothing bigger than 3 lbs

The photo is poor as we were getting rocked around like no one's business. Most fish were caught on the homemade lures. We shall see what tomorrow brings as hopefully it will be the calm before the storm of the weekend

Typical Jersey forecast then Alan.

Well done for getting in the action you did.

Storm looks inevitable unfortunately. Accompanying swell could lap around the Island no matter where the wind goes.

Good luck to the competitors over the next few days although Jersey Met say no swell it was about 5-6ft today

Well done Alan,

I stuck Grace's bow around the corner of the marina entrance and thought better of it! Later on I tried off the shore down the southwest and the sea was pretty nasty evil until mid afternoon when the tide had turned. No bass but a wrasse a cast at one stage. Great fun.
