Alun there was a thread a while back with some serious pliers recently. Maybe search the tackle section...? I have a Rapala pliers/braid scissors combo from Monster Takle. No complaints so far...

any one have a set...any other ideas?

are snowbees worth twice the price
I actually picked up a pair of those Dr Slick pliers when I was over in the States, now I don't have them very long but so far at least they seem fine, well made especially for the price and they do the job. The one thing I'd say about them is that the lanyard that comes with them is useless and I replaced mine straight away, other than that I can't complain but we'll see how they hold up over the season.

I'm not sure how they compare to the snobee ones, although they do look very nice.
