In the dark or daylight they are a great lures if the conditions suit the use of them.

Don't rule out waking this soft plastic on the surface or just sub surface.

If you are getting follows or bumps but no hook-ups then slow the retrieve down & if that fails change the colour of the lure. And not a subtle change either whites & pinks do well if water melon & grasshopper (natural) colours aren't doing the business.

Thanks Nigel, can't think why I haven't tried a wave worm before when the lettuce weed is around.

I had my 2 best Bass this year on a 4.5" Dolive and 4.5 Xlayer, within an hour of each other, daylight on the ebb. I have not done much night fishing, but would like to do so, but find it difficult when you have a family.

Just sorted my gear for a proper go at this tomorrow night. Low tide 22.55 reasonable sized building spring. Moonlight might be a bit brighter than would be ideal.
I'm gonna have to fish a different mark for a few hours til dusk and then move on to the beach for 10.30ish.
Don't know if anyone else fishes this way but I've just loaded a spare spool with 11lb fluoro as I like the idea of a sinking line for fishing weightless senkos on the bottom.
Just praying there ain't no dirty bait anglers on the mark when I get there!

Simon don't just fish them on the bottom !! Most if not all of my fish come from fishing the upper layers of the water ?? Start the retrieve as soon as the lure hits the water ...:)

Does anyone have a couple of kids that I could borrow please as this would appear to be an ideal scenario for me.

You do realise that these come with daily 6am wakeup call when you got in at 3am?
