I went out for an hour and a half after high tide yesterday, for a look about, a walk and to get used to the new rod and lures. I blanked as expected, and so did the few gulls working along the beach. One picked my gunfish off the surface, dropped it, picked it up again and dropped it again, a young bird still with a few brown feathers; that got my pulse racing imagine the nightmare of hooking one of them!
Still the water's clearing and the birds are out so things are looking up.
