Looking for more shallow divers I use tackle house shallow Looking for new toys Can you show and tell me what you think of them? Thanks Alan
Maria chase BW holo silver Dives bout 1ft deep works excellent at all speeds with straight retrieve Great in calm and rough water ---------- Post added at 23:03 ---------- Previous post was at 22:58 ---------- Komomo II joker flashing plate Runs less than 1 foot and can be fished just under surface causing a wake. Works nicely with slow to medium retrieve with twitch's and slashes thrown in. Best in calm water and deffinately doesn't like the rough stuff.
I got one of them mate not really used it yet. Had so much fun with the tackle house last summer lol Think I get my self a komomo II
Mark sleep I think did a thread asking for super shallow diving recommendations a while ago. On my phone so diddly to link but do a search for super shallow divers. There were some interesting suggestions that I might have accidentally bought.
just would add my endorsement to a Komomo II Top lure for me was the Anakin colour, its orangey /gold and I caught bass, gar, mackerel and pollack on it, deadly at sunrise/sunset Joker plate used at night to great effect in the Jersey bass comp, not only by me, but Ivan had four bass on the same lure, again at night. So they are deadly beasts and I would not leave without them Oh and I've also found that if you bring the rod tip up it works nicely spitting away on the surface too!
As well as the feedshallow and komomo II which I love, despite my reluctance to recommend anything made by Daiwa, you've got to love the Daiwa Shore Line Shiner R50+SSR FG Cast like little bullet and runs very shalllow indeed with cracking action. Also Duo Terrif DC12, lovely.
Just bought the R50+SSR FG - WTFBBQ this winter but not had a chance to use it yet. Here is the other thread I was talking about: https://www.thelureforum.com/showthread.php?t=7920
Have a look at the IMA Molmo 90. Got one last season, casts well, nice action, and very shallow running, although limited use so far and not caught on it yet!
f-tec s4 real head great actiondown to 30cm k2 chamelian flashing plate caught very well last year the sasuke 120,140 another great lure i have a couple dc 9,s but as yet have not caught on them but i tend to use the others more
Feed shallow is an awesome bass catching lure, still in my book THE shallow runner. But the Daiwa R50+ SSR (and R40+SSR) is a brilliant casting lure, long straight tumble free casts. Bass love it too. And here is one a little out of left field-The Hart X3 pencil-runs less than a foot -and really casts well. Right heads up time, the Maria Chase Bw is a good lure, but doesn't cast it as well as the feed shallow, so unless it happnes to better mimic the local baitfish-it does gain you anything. The IMA lures just don't cast that well, K2 doesn't even have a weight transfer system!! so again doesn't give you anything extra over the feed shallow/Daiwa R50+SSR.
I always found the k2 to cast really well Dave. As far as the feed shallow. I'm guessing it's the small but compact body. I would say 80% of my fish came on the K2 as well.
Yep I'm with you Pete, I love the feedshallow but the k2 casts really well too and catches. The advantage I find it has over the feedsdhallow is the great action it has when fished really really slowly and at that speed it is just sub-surface. the feed wont do that, although the SSR just about does.
ide defo say the dc12 in ayu up here fished slow with plenty of twitches so it works just under the surface, the shore liner one of my faves to,and tide minnow sld-f fished in same way as dc12,the maria chase silver holo is unbelievable up this way for some reason but just a straight steady retrieve, and top surface lure got to be the thunderstick, casts like shogdite but fishes mental, saved a lot of blanks for the lads up here:wink:
Looking forward to that Komomo 11 Pete the akain colour beat me last year i could not buy a fish on it but here we go again with the Joker
