Has anyone had any experience with any of the SP storage wallets available?
Something like this
http://www.onlinetackleshop.com.au/...d=341&osCsid=b24685b51bfce765d53b49d37bccbf75
or this

Where you can store the SPs in their original packaging and to hand rather than having them floating about in the bottom of a bag.
At the moment i'm using a mustad boat wallet and it does the job but its not great.
Really could do with an improvement.
If anyone has any ideas it would be great to hear them.
Cheers!

I just use one of the Anyfish Anywhere rig pouches. The bags are the perfect size for packets of XLayers etc. They do make everything much more organised, but saying that, because I don't carry a rucksack when fishing, it's actually too big to take with me - so it gets used more for organising stuff at home more than anything.

That's the one! Nice bit of kit and holds the packs nicely. Like I say, if I had a backpack or large hip bag it's get a lot of use.

Cheers ben,
They look a lot better made than my mustad ones.
Which size have you got?
This one? http://www.reelfishing.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=1158
Thanks
I use one of these aswell. Excellent size and pretty sturdy bit of kit. As Ben says, the pouches are ideal size for packs of SP's.

Ben, get a bit of webbing strapping and stitch (well, get your lass to stitch) it onto the wallet so making it into a kind of shoulder bag. My wife calls it my afaw handbag. I don't care, it does the biz nicely.

I have used the Bass Pro version for years and found them great. In fact, I currently have four of the finesse medium tackle bags and are about to order a couple more.

Although you can use it with the original bags most soft plastics comes delivered in I find that the bags included in the Bass Pro wallets are excellent, and have a great seal that will keep fresh any scents or attractants the baits are impregnated with.

Cheers Vidar.
That's good to know
Was leaning towards the bass pro wallet as i like the fact you can unclip a page or two if i'm only popping out for an hour.
Alex i know what you mean, my mustad one is MASSIVE and its a mess, can never find anything! may have to stop buying SPs for a while but then thats never gonna happen!

Do you chaps who use SP wallets find you have to keep the same ones in the same wallets and not use those wallets for other SPs afterwards because of the chemicals (attractants, mould release agent, etc)?

Another question relating to this is do you always remove the jig-head from the SP after you have used it, or do you put the whole thing back in the original SP pack with the unused ones? I tend to glue some of my SP's on to the heads prior to going fishing, so have not been removing afterwards, especially if not used.

I leave them in their original bags Paul so that there's no mix up. I know it sounds like a faff pulling a bag out of a bag, but it's only a couple of seconds.

Alex, I have a small Ian Golds one for my LRF bits. Not so keen on it tbh though - because it doesn't seal all of the way around like the AFAW it ends up being pretty bulky.

Cheers Ben. When I can limit myself to 10 types I'll try it. Right now I am carrying a crazy amount. I know its wrong but I can't help myself.

Have a look at this wallet, although it is slightly pricey (well it is for me) it is a really quality piece of kit and a few guys from the LAS really rate this wallet for storing their SP's

Hope this helps

G loomis SP wallet.. Now that is tarty! looks very very nice though. Better lock the plastic in the fridge! 4 or 5 of those would hurt!
Has anyone found a organised solution for holding large amount of softies?
Thinking about it, having at least 4 different wallets could get confusing and expensive..
Fish afloat most of the time so carrying it is not really a problem, but it would be great if there was a system for holding say 50 plus packs so they're organised.
Anyone have any ideas??
Cheers
