After the excesses of Alderney Week I launched the yak for a bit of a blow out.

I headed for a tide rip that I usually fish in the big boat, float fishing live mackerel.

This time though it was SP's only.

Avoiding the rough bits I had a nice suprise with a bass of 6lb 4oz.

After repositioning another came along of 5lb 7oz.

Alas the tide then died away and it was a schoolie bash, plus a pollack for my cat Genghis.

BTW all on the homemade sayoris!

They are all joined together, neoprene boots with a sort of trainer glued over the top, by Typhoon.

I wear them over my latex foot drysuit in wintwe, and on their own in summer.

The homemade SP's are simply brilliant.

The only thing is it's taken an element of fun out of it because I'm using them constantly rather than chopping & changing, trying different lures and methods.

Now I've realised this I guess it's up to me to do something about it!!
