I booked a half day at work today, so popped out fishing for a couple of hours. The plan was to live bait a Mackerel, but after about 5 chucks of the feathers (& no Macs) I got fed up of working a set of feathers with a 13ft beachcaster and a Shimano big pit reel! Packed away the feathers and got the Illex out - much lighter. Moved around the rocks a bit and clipped on a Sayori Shad, had a few taps from Wrasse and was thinking of going elsewhere. Another cast and bang, fish on! It went like stink and stayed deep, I honestly thought I'd hooked another double - this fish went a lot harder than the one I had last week.
7lb 6oz and probably the best fight I've ever had from a Bass.
I'd kept the fish I had last week as I didn't have a camera or scales. Bit more prepared this time, so after a couple of photos off she went to grow bigger
