    Hi Gents,
Can someone take five minutes to explain what a slider is compared to a normal top water lure and how they are worked
    Many thanks Brian

The standard wtd action is quite short with the lure sometimes just shaking its head from side to side, the slide is the same action but a lot slower with more of a flick from the rod so the lure slides up to a meter just before the lure stalls repeat to send the lure in the other direction. Some lures like the asture dip just sub surface when you slide them which can be effective

Would any surface lure work as a slider, is it just down to technique or are some lures designed for it?

There are only a handful of lures that really slide a long way, frosty, Asturie and Orion slider are my favourites but on most lures you can extend that wtd action.
