But not for me!

Hi guys, not a great deal of fishing time recently, but I nipped out the other night (Thurs) to one of our north coast piers with some sp's.

Tried loads of different lures and retrieves without a single hit, before reverting to my banker lure, the gulp sandeel in sapphire shiner colour. Using a 7gm head and a fairly quick retrieve I managed 13 pollock (nothing bigger the 1 1/2lb). Great fun and my biggest catch on lures so far on a single hook.

They all hooked up well outside the light on the water, and I was amazed to see pollock smaller than my lure aggresively attacking it as I pulled it back to the wall for my next cast

Nice one Gary, what sort of depth were you fishing in?
It was about a 30' tide that night, so i guess there was probably 20' of water there. The tide had only just started to ebb and the first fish came just as the moon came over the horizon (solunar effect?). As I said, the pollock were only interested in the lure if it was reeled back in at fairly high speed, no takes at all with a medium or slower retrieve.
