Never heard any mention of people using any kind of wading stick/pole on this or the "other" site. Does no-one use one at all? I found out on my second session on a very rocky reef that when up to your waist or higher in water which is a bit cloudy,or in bad light, trying to move around over ground with lots of different sized boulders can be very dodgy and did get wet. On another session i and lads i was with had to resort to using the rod butt to keep balance on occations, which meant submerging your reel....not ideal,so at certain "wading" marks i will be taking along a light weight aid of some sort, maybe telescopic.

Yes m8, me and Kev use heavy wading staffs.

We don't always carry them, it depends on where we are going and the tide size.
Often, when wading, we have to cross very quick gutters carrying large volumes of water.

Wading staffs are a pain in the ass but sometimes, a very useful item to have with you.
