looks gimmicky but intriguing.

there is no way it can work out accurate distance cast based upon line out.

Maybe it senses the pitch angle change on the plug for depth but it's all line diameter
and retrieve based. It has to measure line level too though as low levels would throw
it way off.

This is far too gimmicky and will under most circumstances serve very little practical purpose.

The only electronically assisted baitcasting reels that makes any sense to acquire are the Shimano Conquest / Calcutta versions with the DC braking system, which truly is fantastic and offers some major benefits.
