Being as we're all kinda on first name terms, I'd like to know what you all do for a living (and how some of you manage to spend almost all day posting on here!!).....even if its 'feet up and TV studying' ;)

Myself, I'm a freelance civil engineer, currently causing chaos on the M5 around Bristol, work stupid hours sometimes and only manage to wet a line at the weekends.

Waiting for Summer time long nights and work closer to home to arrive :)

Good question
For the last 20 or so years i have been working as a gardener for a local authority however for the last two years i have been unable to work due to degenerative disc disorder[discs in my spine collapsing] so my lower spine is basicly bone on bone with nerves trapped inbetween
hence i can't get out as often as i would like so spend time on here to help the day go by and to pass on some of what i have learnt over the years

I'm a trust officer. Basically look after rich people and make their money be in the right place at the right time, buy things like houses for them, make them richer through investment managers etc etc

I sit at my desk all day doing things on the PC and it's boring as sh1t but good money so I sit here all day reading the net and spending more money than I have via the old credit cards and doing some work inbetween.

Im an Engineer specialising in Industrial automation and motion control, basically anything with an electric motor we get involved with controlling it. I’m supposed to be at home working on a conference paper today but have been lured away (did you see what I did there) to more interesting things. Chest packs and Z-claws are currently being researched along with trying to find Si a pet monkey of course. :geek:

I am a self-employed IT recruitment consultant. Left a safe job in London 3+ years ago to work from home (a 10 acre smallholding in West Wales). Bit hairy at the moment given the state of the economy and employment markets, but it does mean I can go fishing whenever conscience and weather allow. I'm 30 minutes from Cardigan Bay or South Pembs so well placed for bass fishing. Dreaming of finding an alternative income source from the smallholding or hobbies...

I spent most of my working life on Building sites,

started off as a labourer in '78 until i qualified as a bricklayer, then on Friday the 13th 1990 i was hit off my motorcycle (guy fekked off and left me for dead) which resulted in multiple injuries including fractures to my neck and skull, a crushed rib cage, plates and pins in my foot and forearm

after 3 yrs, i got bored sh1tless with being stuck at home on disability, so returned to work as a plant operator, until my neck couldn't take it anymore and i had to give it up completely.

Now, i am a MODERATOR.. Thanks Mike..

I am an unemployed IT consultant!!!! Griff can I send you my CV?!?!?!
I was made redundant in the Summer when the faceless bean counters decided to close the EMEA operation of the company I worked for despite the fact we were more profitable most of the time than the head office they kept open....... Now finding my skills are outdated. So in between trawling through IT jobsites I check out on here.

Just started a Xmas job at my local M&S to get some money, and stop myself going nuts during the Winter months.

I'm hoping to pickup a night job, and be free for dawn, before the kids go to school. Marc sorry to hear about your accident, seen a fair share of vehicle accidents, thankfully my bro didnt go through with his aerial ambitions and seems to have settled with a fireblade instead :x
