Hi Guys

Well I did it, I caught my first day time fish in Jersey.

After all the hype about the Xlayer(Emeruade) I finally caved and when to MR Fish to get some on my way to Noirmont this morning.

Well I took Keith's advice and looked for a bit of current. I had a few nibbles which I could see near the tail of the xlayer on a 7g jig, so I figured if you are going to bite the tail I will just stick another hook there.
I did it the bodge way tie a piece of 8lb mono with a size 8 hook the inserted it just where the bite marks were.

After a few goes it was fish on, oh the joy, it was a little 'un but such fun, shortly after it was number 2 unfortunately the spot I was on was about to get cut off by the tide so I had to move on, no more bites but it was not a blank :) They were both quite small but really feisty

Thanks all for the tips

Well done.

This week has been full of Wrasse for many of us inbetween the Pollack, the Bass, the Mackerel, etc....lol

Now you've got it, bigger and more will follow. Time to enter the Wrasse comp maybe.
