Hi Guys
Well I did it, I caught my first day time fish in Jersey.
After all the hype about the Xlayer(Emeruade) I finally caved and when to MR Fish to get some on my way to Noirmont this morning.
Well I took Keith's advice and looked for a bit of current. I had a few nibbles which I could see near the tail of the xlayer on a 7g jig, so I figured if you are going to bite the tail I will just stick another hook there.
I did it the bodge way tie a piece of 8lb mono with a size 8 hook the inserted it just where the bite marks were.
After a few goes it was fish on, oh the joy, it was a little 'un but such fun, shortly after it was number 2 unfortunately the spot I was on was about to get cut off by the tide so I had to move on, no more bites but it was not a blank
They were both quite small but really feisty

Thanks all for the tips
