Well I tried ordering one this week, I found a supplier and emailed them asking what the likelyhood of me getting one next year would be. Their response was this.

Hello,

I am unable to contact the manufacturer. They do not answer or return their calls. I cannot commit to a Zeebaas order at this time.

I apologize for this situation, but there is something going on with that company.

Best Regards,

**** *******

mmm, anyone got any ideas? I want one :wackit:

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Zeebass was in problems.

The Zeebass company is set up / run by the guy that originally designed and manufactured Van Staal until he made a huge mess out of if, and the whole VS brand was only rescued via Quantum’s buy out.
It seems most places advertise them as being available, but actually their not. Built to order? I contacted one of the dealers and he currently only has the ZX22RD, ZX25RB, ZX25RS in stock and ready to ship. Not far off $1000 with shipping
I've been doing a bit of surfing trying to establish if the ZeeBaas reels are still available as I am going over to California in October and there is a dealer listed in San Jose, which we will be driving through, I liked the idea of self maintenance and the ability to switch between bailed and bailless and different sized spools using the same body.

There are still lots of dealers listed though I haven't found any that state whether they have the products in stock or if they are order only products but I did come across the following statement on one authorised dealers website.

ZeeBaaS ZX Spinning Reel Information
~ ~ Please Note that at the beginning of 2010 ZeeBaaS Reel Manufacturing has been taken overseas. There are only a few "Made in America" reels still left. Please call or email to verify the manufacturing origin of a particular reel. Soon the only ZeeBaaS Reels that will be available will be Made in China.

Well at least we will be able to buy em if theyre knocking em out in China (saying that havent they just upper their currency rates by flogging their dollars or sommat?)
