The term "weedless hook" could also be a straight shank hook with some sort of weed guard IE mono strands or thin spring wire to guide weed debris from gathering on the hook. An "o ring" is a small rubber band used for sealing.
Both of the above can be used together when wacky rigging stick baits like senko. An o ring is pushed over the SP, the hook hold is behind the o ring and not through the bait.

Think you maybe talking about hook with o ring connected to the eye? these are used for making a jika rig I believe.
